Loyola (Md.) rolls past Mount St. Mary's 65-42
Shane Walker scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds to lead Loyola (Md.) to a 65-42 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
It was the fifth double-double of Walker's career. Jamal Barney added 10 points to surpass the 1,000-point milestone for his career and help the Greyhounds (4-5) snap a three-game losing streak.
Loyola never trailed and built an 18-4 lead on Robert Olson's layup with 12:58 left in the first half. The Greyhounds extended the advantage to 48-30 when Erik Etherly converted a three-point play with 13:35 to play in the game.
Loyola shot 50 percent from the field (13 of 26) in the first half and 48.9 percent (23 of 47) for the game.
Etherly finished with 17 points. Barney reached his milestone on a layup with 12:54 remaining.
Danny Thompson and David Golladay scored eight points each to lead Mount St. Mary's (3-7), which has lost three straight.
