Loyola Marymount 68, Pepperdine 58

Anthony Ireland scored 21 points to lead Loyola Marymount to a 68-58 victory over Pepperdine Thursday night.

Drew Viney had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions (10-7, 3-1 WCC), who had lost 13 straight games at Pepperdine prior to Thursday's matchup.

Pepperdine (7-9, 1-4) led by six early in the first half, though Loyola Marymount staked itself to a 28-26 halftime lead.

Nikolas Skouen drained two consecutive 3-pointers to pull the Waves within one, 43-42, midway through the second half, but the Lions unleashed a 12-2 run to lead by double-digits for the first time in the game with 5 1/2 minutes remaining.

Though both teams pulled down 14 offensive rebounds, the Lions held a 20-8 edge in second-chance points.

Taylor Darby and Jordan Baker each scored 14 points for Pepperdine while Joshua Lowery added 13.
