Love has 20 points, Wright State beats North Florida 89-72
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Loudon Love scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Wright State beat North Florida 89-72 on Saturday.
Billy Wampler added 17 points and four rebounds for the Raiders (3-1). Skyelar Potter scored 13 points with seven rebounds, Parker Ernsthausen had 12 points, and Cole Gentry and Mark Hughes had 10 apiece.
Wright State averaged slightly better shooting from the field (50-47 percent) with the difference coming from 3-point range where the Raiders made 11 of 18 (61 percent) compared with 9 of 23 (39 percent) for the Ospreys (1-3).
Hughes and Wampler drained 3-pointers and Love contributed six points to a 17-4 surge midway through the first half that gave the Raiders a 30-17 lead and they led 44-33 at the break.
Ernsthausen and Potter each sank a 3 to help push the Wright State lead to 62-44 with 14:34 left and the Raiders cruised from there.
Noah Horchler scored 16 points with nine rebounds for North Florida. Garrett Sams added another 16 points with four rebounds and four assists.
