Louisiana Tech wins 5th in row, tops Florida Atlantic 95-69 (Feb 16, 2017)
RUSTON, La. (AP) Jalen Harris scored 21 points off the bench and Louisiana Tech extended its winning streak to five games by routing Florida Atlantic, 95-69 Thursday night.
Louisiana Tech maintains its hold on second place in Conference USA with four games remaining in the regular season. The top four seeds into the tournament receive a first-round bye.
Florida Atlantic led throughout most of the first half and held a 28-27 advantage with 5:26 left. Jacobi Boykins converted a layup and Harris did the same as the Bulldogs closed the half on an 18-7 run to take a 10-point lead into intermission, 45-35.
Boykins finished with 19 points and Louisiana Tech (19-8, 11-3) shot 56.7 percent from the field, knocking down 34 of 60 shots, including 7 of 13 from distance.
Gerdarius Troutman scored 13 points and Jailyn Ingram contributed 12 points for Florida Atlantic (8-16, 4-9).
