Little Rock's Chris Beard takes UNLV coaching job
Chris Beard has parlayed a 30-5 season at Arkansas-Little Rock into a five-year gig coaching UNLV.
Multiple reports said the former Bobby Knight assistant is all set to take the job, which became available when UNLV coach Dave Rice resigned early on in conference play. Little Rock confirmed the move on Monday.

Beard is an interesting choice for the Runnin' Rebels. Aside from a 10-year stretch with Bobby Knight and son Pat at Texas Tech, he has been a bit of a vagabond.
He coached the ABA's South Carolina Warriors to a 29-2 record in 2011-12. After that, a year at McMurry, two at Angelo State and the one at UALR.
Before the stretch with the Red Raiders, he held several assistant jobs and had head coaching stints at Fort Scott Community College and Seminole State.
He's 96-30 as a Division 1 coach. Now he'll get a chance to see if he can work some magic at UNLV.
