Lipscomb wins 10th game, pummels NAIA neighbor Fisk 99-53 (Jan 03, 2018)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Garrison Matthews knocked down five 3-pointers and scored 28 points as Lipscomb picked up its 10th win of the season by pummeling cross-down rival and NAIA-member Fisk, 99-53 on Wednesday night.

It's the first time the Bisons have reached the 10-win plateau before the start of Atlantic Sun Conference play and it's the school's best start to a season since joining the NCAA.

Lipsomb hit an early string of six 3-pointers, three by Matt Rose, to build a 27-11 lead that ballooned to a 53-22 advantage by halftime.

Overall the Bisons hit on 16 of the 45 3-pointers they launched (35.6 percent) and were 32 of 69 from the field overall (46.4 percent). They held a substantial 62-36 lead on the boards.

Rose and Aaron Korn each knocked down four 3s and contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively. Eli Pepper and Rob Marberry grabbed 13 and 12 rebounds, respectively.

Joshua Madison had 12 points for Fisk.
