LeBron James included in Akron bobblehead promotion
A limited-edition bobblehead of LeBron James in a full Akron uniform will be available on March 1 when the Zips host Ohio.
The Cleveland Cavaliers forward is part of a promotional bobblehead series the school announced on Thursday which includes James' high school teammates and former Akron stars, Dru Joyce and Romeo Travis.
This promotion is in conjunction with the LeBron James Family Foundation. This past summer, James partnered with the University of Akron to provide qualifying students from his "I Promise" program with a four-year scholarship.
Before head coach Keith Dambrot joined the Akron coaching staff as an assistant in 2001, he coached James, Joyce and Travis at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, leading the Fighting Irish to back-to-back state championships.
Joyce's bobblehead will be available on Feb. 16, followed by Travis' on Feb. 26.
