Johnson Jr, Arkansas-Little Rock beat Centenary 95-49

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Marcus Johnson Jr. made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 30 points, and Arkansas-Little Rock beat Division III Centenary 95-49 on Wednesday night.

Johnson was the first 30-plus scorer for Little Rock since Will Neighbour on Jan. 16, 2014. Johnson was 11 of 13 from the field, including 7 of 8 from distance, and made his only free throw attempt.

Jermaine Ruttley had 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Little Rock (2-0). Josh Hagins added 10 points.

Johnson scored nine points in the first half, all 3-pointers, as Little Rock built a 38-29 lead at halftime. He made back-to-back 3-pointers in the second half during Little Rock's 22-2 run to pull away.

Treylan Matthews led Centenary with 11 points and Kendall Demouchet had 10. The Gentlemen made just 18 of 55 field goals (33 percent) and were outrebounded 55-24.
