John Calipari wants Kentucky fans to stay classy about Louisville's scandal

In advance of the huge rivalry game between No. 16 Louisville and No. 12 Kentucky on Saturday at Rupp Arena, Wildcats coach John Calipari has a message for UK fans. Channeling Ron Burgundy, he wants them to stay classy.

In an interview with the Courier-Journal, Calipari specifically was addressing how the Wildcats crowd might be tempted to try trolling Louisville over its sex-for-recruits scandal:

"I would tell our fans, 'Enjoy the game, don't be bringing in banners, don't be bringing in posters. Don't. You don't need to do it.' I mean, let's just enjoy the basketball game. Let's be classy. We have the classiest fans. I would expect that's how they'll be in this game."

Calipari recalled when he coached at Massachusetts and took on an opponent facing gambling allegations. He said he threatened to walk off and not coach the game if the UMass fans taunted the other team.

"Let's just play basketball," Calipari said. "We don't need to relish in anybody's struggles."
