John Calipari on Skal Labissiere: 'Everything is good to go'

Kentucky, arguably the top team again this season, held its media day on Wednesday in Lexington.

As you can imagine, many of the questions center around the eligibility status of freshman center Skal Labissiere, a 6-foot-11 big man originally from Haiti, who has yet to be cleared by the NCAA.

According to those in attendance, Kentucky head coach John Calipari seemed to be growing tired of the repeated questions regarding Labissiere's eligibility.

“Everything is good to go,” Calipari told reporters, via Kyle Tucker of the Courier-Journal. “There’s probably 50 players that have a review. Last year, we had five players have a review; a couple of them got cleared the week before the game.

“Every year we’ve been here, players go through the review. You won’t believe this: it’s always the best players who go through the review. I think my team will be fine and you guys will figure it out when we go out the first day and everybody’s got uniforms. You’ll know, 'Ah, they must’ve been cleared."

Labissiere is one of two highly-touted big men still waiting to be cleared by the NCAA. Kansas freshman forward Cheick Diallo is allowed to practice with the Jayhawks, but hasn't received a decision about whether or not he can play this season.

Kentucky begins the 2015-16 season on Nov. 13 against Albany.
