Iowa hires Siena coach McCaffery

FOXSports.com has confirmed that Iowa will hire Siena coach Fran McCaffery.

McCaffery, 50, has spent the last five seasons with the Saints, leading Siena to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.

Siena was 27-7 this season and lost to Purdue in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

McCaffrey will replace Todd Lickliter, who had three losing seasons with the Hawkeyes.

McCaffery was an assistant coach at Notre Dame before head coaching stints at Lehigh and UNC Greensboro.
