Inside edge: If you bet against Kentucky, here's who you go with
It's one of sports' most time-tested conundrums: Do you cheer with your heart or with your wallet?
And nowhere is the juxtaposition between fandom and gambledom more apparent than in this year's NCAA tournament, more specifically the Dance's runaway favorite.
Beginning Wednesday, FOX Sports Live's "Let it Ride" will be on location in Las Vegas, breaking down the best plays, strongest underdogs and biggest traps in the tournament's opening rounds. But before he gets to Vegas, FOX Sports 1 Vegas Insider Todd Fuhrman visited the set Sunday night to talk first thoughts for the gambling-inclined.
And when asked whether the smarter bet to win it all is Kentucky or the field (all other 67 teams), Fuhrman gave the quintessential wise guy answer:
"The initial instinct is I want to take the field. ... [Is Kentucky] going to go 40-0? The answer is yes. But it's from a gambling perspective that [the field] makes more sense."
