Indiana Basketball: Hoosier Hysteria this Saturday
This is the best time of the year. Indiana Football is off and running, but this Saturday the Indiana Basketball team will be showcased for Hoosier Hysteria which tips-off at 6:30 pm.
For those that are unfamiliar, Hoosier Hysteria is an open practice that introduces new and old players in scrimmages, skills contests, and other fun games and events. The Hoosiers have also announced that players will be signing autographs an hour and a half before the event officially starts. Along with the opportunity to get your favorite player’s signature, Indiana will be handing out free basketball calanders.

Admission to the event is free, but fans are encouraged to bring canned food to donate to the Hoosier Hills Food Bank. It may be wise to show up early, as this event is extremely popular and seats will be going quick.
Not only will Indiana be showing off new players, but a new stadium as well. This will be the first time that the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall’s doors will be open to the public since they began renovating last March. A new lobby which features a digital display, as well as an improved jumbotron and seating will surely impress the Hoosier faithful.
The new players that will be unveiled are: Quentin Taylor, Deron Davis, Johnny Jager, Curtis Jones, Grant Gelon, Zach McRoberts, Freddie McSwain Jr. The most anticipated players for the upcoming season are Davis, Jones, and McSwain Jr.
There will be no football game interfering with Stadium traffic as they travel to Northwestern for their seventh contest of the season.
ESPN has Indiana ranked 12th in the nation going into the season, under the impression that Thomas Bryant, OG Anunoby, and James Blackmon Jr. will emerge as some of the top players in the league, and will have a great supporting class of freshman and transfers.
With such a highly rated and anticipated team, this Hoosier Hysteria should be something special. Don’t forget to bring canned food, be safe, and have a great time!
