In your face: USC coach Andy Enfield slams one down -- via trash talk -- on UCLA's Alford

When he coached at Florida Gulf Coast, Andy Enfield'€™s style of wide-open basketball was known as "€œDunk City."€ Enfield has brought some of that Dunk City attitude with him to Southern Cal, because he has verbally posterized his new crosstown rival, UCLA coach Steve Alford.

As recounted in a profile in the December issue of Men'€™s Journal, Enfield was addressing USC boosters when he was asked about competing with UCLA and Alford. His reply: "I don't worry about them. I've made it to one Sweet 16 in two years, and he's made it to one Sweet 16 in 18 years."

Enfield also threw down on former Trojans coach Tim Floyd, now at Texas-El Paso. Floyd had complained that Enfield had interfered with a recruit who had committed to UTEP but ended up backing out (the recruit eventually signed with UCLA). Enfield told the boosters: "Tim Floyd shows up every day at work and realizes he lives in El Paso, Texas. And he's pissed off that he didn't get the USC job [again]."€

Does Enfield sound confident? He did, after all, take Florida Gulf Coast from nowhere to the Sweet 16. He made a big chunk of change as a vice president of a medical startup. And just as noteworthy, he married former Maxim model Amanda Marcum.
