Idaho 69, Fresno St. 66

Kyle Barone came off the bench to score 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting to help Idaho beat Fresno State 69-66 on Thursday night.

Shawn Henderson added 12 points and Landon Tatum had five assists as Idaho (17-12, 9-7 Western Athletic) closed out the home portion of its league schedule.

The win earns Idaho a tie for third and a bye in the first round of the conference tournament next week.

Fresno State (13-16, 5-10) was led by Nedeljko Golubovic, who scored 14 points. Greg Smith and Garrett Johnson combined for 23, the only other two players in double figures.

After blowing a 13-point lead, Fresno State trailed 67-64 with 17 seconds remaining. The Bulldogs had time to set up a 3-point shot for the tie, but Jonathan Willis traveled and gave possession back to Idaho.

Tatum then fired a pass the length of the court to a wide-open Barone, who dunked it to seal the win for Idaho.

Johnson was fouled at the buzzer and finished off a three-point play to pull the Bulldogs within three points.
