Heidegger lifts UC Santa Barbara past CS Northridge 76-74

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) — Max Heidegger scored 23 points and his 3-pointer from the left elbow with 3.8 seconds on the clock lifted UC Santa Barbara over Cal State Northridge 76-74 on Thursday night.

The game-winner was set up when a diving JaQuori McLaughlin kept the ball from going out of bounds and it wound up in Heidegger's hands.

Ar'mond Davis had 12 points and six rebounds for UC Santa Barbara (20-9, 9-6 Big West Conference). Amadou Sow added 11 points.

Lamine Diane had 34 points and 13 rebounds for the Matadors (13-18, 7-8). Terrell Gomez added 21 points. Cameron Gottfried had six rebounds.

The Gauchos improve to 2-0 against the Matadors this season. UC Santa Barbara defeated Cal State Northridge 70-64 on Feb. 6. UC Santa Barbara finishes out the regular season against Cal Poly on the road on Saturday. Cal State Northridge finishes out the regular season against UC Irvine on the road on Saturday.
