Great Danes reach 6-0, Cremo a milestone in 78-62 win (Nov 25, 2017)

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) Joe Cremo scored 30 points with seven 3-pointers and Albany defeated Holy Cross 78-62 on Saturday to remain unbeaten in six games, its best start to a season in 32 years.

Cremo's 30 points on 10-for-17 shooting, 7-for-10 from 3-point range, was not only a career high, but pushed the 6-foot-4 junior over 1,000 points for his career, just the 10th player in Albany's Division I history to get there. Cremo crossed the scoring threshold with just about a minute left in the game. He made one free throw but missed the second. Holy Cross controlled the rebound, but David Nichols stole the ball back and fed Cremo for a layup, who scored his 1,001st point.

Nicholls added 14 points and six assists and three steals, Travis Charles scored 15 points.

Karl Charles paced Holy Cross (2-3) with 16 points, Patrick Benzan added 13. The Crusaders shot 50 percent (24-for-48) and Albany 53 percent from the floor (31-for-58).
