Grambling State beats Selma 98-53
GRAMBLING, La. (AP) Arnold Richmond scored a career-high 22 points and Grambling State beat Selma 98-53 on Monday night.
Carlton Lowe added 12 points for Grambling State (2-5), which beat its second non-Division I opponent this season. The Tigers handed Mid-Atlantic Christian an 85-26 loss on Nov. 14.
Grambling State opened the game with an 18-4 run and Richmond's 3-pointer capped a 13-3 spurt a few minutes later to push its lead to 39-19. The Tigers led by double figures the rest of the way.
Richmond scored 10 points in the first half and Nigel Riberio added nine as Grambling State held a 46-27 lead at halftime.
''Winning any college game is hard,'' Grambling State coach Shawn Walker said. ''We haven't had a lot wins but we are 2-5 now. We are happy about the win.''
The Tigers play at Marquette on Wednesday.
