Govan leads Georgetown to another victory, 102-68 (Nov 15, 2017)

WASHINGTON (AP) Jessie Govan scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds and Georgetown gave new head coach Patrick Ewing another victory, beating Mount St. Mary's 102-68 on Wednesday night.

Govan had 20 points and 15 rebounds for the Hoyas (2-0) in their season-opening victory against Jacksonville. Against the Mountaineers (0-3), he was 7-of-9 shooting and made all three of his 3-point attempts.

Jahvon Blair added 19 points and five assists, Jagan Mosley 15 points and five assists, with Kaleb Johnson and Jamorko Pickett each posting 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Hoyas shot 57 percent, 50 percent from the arc (11 of 22) and outrebounded the Mountaineers 51-23.

It was the first time the Hoyas reached 100 points since beating South Carolina Upstate 105-60 on Nov. 12, 2016.

The Mountaineers, coming off losses to No. 13 Notre Dame and Marquette, were led by Junior Robinson with 26 points, Donald Carey 14 and Ryan Gomes 12. The Mountaineers put up 63 3-point attempts in their first two games. Against the Hoyas, they shot 19 and made just four.

The Hoyas led by 18 at halftime and were up by 14 in the second half before going on a 25-9 run to lead by 30 with five minutes left.
