The 6-foot-7 forward missed the Hoyas' 93-73 win over St. John's on Wednesday night after banging knees with a teammate in practice earlier in the week. He reportedly told the coaching staff he couldn't go shortly before the start of the game. Following the win, Georgetown head coach John Thompson III listed him as day-to-day.
Derrickson had started all 16 games for Georgetown heading into Wednesday night's meeting against the Red Storm. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Reggie Cameron, who scored a career-high 15 points in his first start of the season.
Derrickson is averaging 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, shooting 44 percent from beyond the 3-point line.
Georgetown hosts No. 6 Villanova on Saturday afternoon, with first place in the Big East on the line.
