Georgetown's Bradley Hayes out indefinitely with broken hand

Georgetown's struggles continued on Saturday afternoon, as the school announced that senior center Bradley Hayes is out indefinitely with a broken left hand he suffered during practice earlier this week.

“It is a blow to our team, but I’m very disappointed for Bradley because of the heard work he has put in over the last four years to put himself in a position to have a good senior year,” Georgetown head coach John Thompson III said in a release. “He had successful surgery today and we expect him to fully recover but we’re not sure when he’ll return.” 

Hayes, who scored a total of 30 points the first three seasons with the Hoyas, has had a breakout campaign in his final year on The Hilltop. The 7-footer is averaging 8.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. 

Freshman center Jessie Govan will replace him in the starting lineup.

Georgetown had lost three of four games entering Saturday's rematch with Providence.
