George Mason 84, Towson 58
Luke Hancock and Andre Cornelius sparked runs of 23-0 and 17-0 as George Mason cruised to a 84-58 win over Towson on Thursday.
Hancock had nine of his 19 points as the Patriots (16-5, 8-2 Colonial Athletic Association) scored the final 15 points of the first half and the first eight points of the second half en route to its 17th consecutive win against the Tigers.
Towson (4-16, 0-10) led 23-20 after a jumper by Isaiah Philmore with 4 minutes remaining in the first half. The Tigers were then able to cut the lead to 50-37 with 11:53 remaining in the game, but the Patriots responded with a 17-0 run to put the game away.
Cornelius added 15 points on five 3-pointers and Cam Long had 12 points, eight assists and five steals for the Patriots, who won their sixth straight game overall. The Tigers, which lost for the ninth straight time, were paced by 19 points by Rashawn Polk.
