Galloway leads UNC-Greensboro past Mercer 74-47
MACON, Ga. (AP) — Kyrin Galloway had 16 points to lead five UNC Greensboro players in double figures as the Spartans rolled past Mercer 74-47 on Saturday.
Francis Alonso and James Dickey added 13 points apiece for the Spartans (26-5, 15-3 Southern Conference). Demetrius Troy and Malik Massey chipped in 10 points each. Dickey also had eight rebounds and four blocks for the Spartans.
Mercer put up 18 points in the first half, a season low for the team.
Ross Cummings had 12 points for the Bears (11-19, 6-12). Jaylen Stowe added 10 points. Victor Bafutto had four blocks.
Ethan Stair, whose 12 points per game coming into the contest ranked second on the Bears, shot only 17 percent for the game (1 of 6).
The Spartans improve to 2-0 against the Bears for the season. UNC Greensboro defeated Mercer 88-81 on Jan. 26. UNC Greensboro wrapped up its regular season on a four-game win streak. The Spartans and the Bears next take the floor in the Southern Conference Tournament.
