Gallinat scores 18 as Pacific turns back Portland 66-54 (Jan 13, 2018)

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Roberto Gallinat scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures and Pacific rolled to a 66-54 victory over Portland on Saturday night.

Miles Reynolds and Anthony Townes added 12 points apiece for the Tigers (9-10, 4-2 West Coast Conference), while Jack Williams scored 10 and Jahlil Tripp contributed eight rebounds and six assists.

Most of Portland's scoring came from its bench players with D'Marques Tyson leading the way with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range. Marcus Shaver Jr. and Malcolm Porter added 12 points each for the Pilots (6-13, 0-6), who have dropped six straight - all in conference play. Portland's starters scored just 16 points in the game.

Josh McSwiggan scored the first basket of the game to give Portland its only lead. Reynolds and Williams answered with back-to-back 3-pointers to put the Tigers on top. Malcolm Porter's 3 at the buzzer pulled Portland within 31-29 at intermission. Franklin Porter's layup to open the second half knotted the score, but Townes scored the last six points in an 11-2 run and Portland got no closer than four from there.

The game featured a pair of former Portland Trail Blazers on the sidelines. Damon Stoudamire is the coach for Pacific, while Portland is led by Terry Porter, whose two sons play for the Pilots.
