Former SMU guard Keith Frazier reportedly transfers to North Texas

Keith Frazier has found a new home in the state of Texas.

The former SMU guard and McDonald's All-American transferred to North Texas on Wednesday afternoon, according to Bill Nichols of the Dallas Morning News. Frazier had been linked to the Mean Green since announcing his departure from SMU last week.

Frazier had tumultuous career with the Mustangs. Larry Brown's prized recruit in the Class of 2013 averaged only 5.4 points per game as a freshman. His sophomore campaign was cut short the following year when he was ruled ineligible by the NCAA for an academic issue. That led to SMU's current postseason ban.

Frazier appeared in 10 games for undefeated SMU this season and was fourth on the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game. He stepped away from the program in early January, citing "personal issues."

The 6-foot-5 guard will resume his college career in December 2016 after the fall semester is complete.

North Texas is currently 7-11 (2-3 Conference USA) on the season and are expected to have its three double-digit scorers back next year.
