Former Blue Devil Marshall Plumlee Discusses Basketball, Family
Former Duke center Marshall Plumlee was recently featured on a segment with the NY Knicks discussing Duke, being a rookie, his brothers, and more.
Duke alum Marshall Plumlee was featured in a 1-on-1 segment with the New York Knicks media. Plumlee signed with the Knicks as an undrafted rookie free agent to add depth at center.
The former Duke Basketball player discussed a variety of topics in the interview, including how another former Blue Devil and current Knicks teammate Lance Thomas has really helped him make the transition to the NBA. Thomas wrote an article opening up about his own path to the NBA earlier this year, and he has given valuable advice to Plumlee as a rookie and keeping him from making mistakes early in his professional basketball career.
He also talks about the Duke Brotherhood in the NBA and his relationship with Shane Battier and Grant Hill, the Duke-UNC rivalry joining with former Tar Heel J.P. Tokoto on the Knicks, what it was like growing up in the Plumlee household, his passion for basketball and relationship with his brothers, and preparing for the upcoming season. Marshall Plumlee competed with the Knicks in the summer league and is currently playing with the team during the preseason and training camp. In his first exhibition game, Plumlee compiled 4 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal in 9:20 of action in a preseason exhibition against the Houston Rockets.
