Florida State beats Florida at the buzzer again, only this time a Seminole hits the game-winner (VIDEO)
Florida State freshman guard Dwayne Bacon took advantage of his height on the final play, rising up over the smaller Kasey Hill for a game-winning, buzzer-beater from the right elbow to lead the Seminoles to a 73-71 win over rival Florida on Tuesday night.
Bacon finished with 22 points for Florida State. Devon Bookert, who hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the first half, had 11 of the bench. Kevaughn Allen led all scorers with 32 points in a losing effort.
For the second straight year, Florida State defeated Florida at the buzzer. The only difference is that this time a Seminole hit the game-winning shot.
In the previous meeting on Dec. 30, 2014, Bookert's fadeaway three from the baseline was short, but Florida forward Jacob Kurtz accidentally tipped the ball into the basket as he went for the rebound. The shot went in as time expired and Florida State won 65-63.
The Seminoles have beat their in-state rival three straight times.
