E. Michigan 76, Ferris St. 60

Derek Thompson made five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points, leading Eastern Michigan past Ferris State 76-60 on Tuesday night.

Brandon Bowdry scored 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Eagles (3-10), who connected on 50 percent of their shots (29 of 58).

Eastern Michigan fell behind 29-24 when Ferris State's Donte Molden made a 3-pointer with 5:16 remaining in the first half, but a Jamell Harris jumper and Thompson's back-to-back 3-pointers gave the Eagles (3-10) the lead for good, 32-29. His 3-pointers keyed a 14-3 run that gave Eastern Michigan a 38-32 advantage at the half.

Guard Darien Gay, one of Ferris State's two four-year starters, made 9 of 11 shots, including five 3-pointers to lead the NCAA Division II Bulldogs (8-5) with 23 points. The other half of Ferris State's veteran tandem, forward Justin Keenan, struggled from the field. Averaging 21 points and making 54 percent of his shots, the Division II All-American was held to 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting.

Eastern Michigan built its biggest lead of the game, 62-43, with 11:46 remaining on Antonio Green's 3-pointer.
