Dukes, Scott help Niagara pull away late, beat New Hampshire (Dec 05, 2017)
DURHAM, N.H. (AP) Kahlil Dukes and Matt Scott scored all of Niagara's points during a 13-2 run over the final four minutes and the Purple Eagles beat New Hampshire 78-70 on Tuesday night.
Dukes hit eight 3-pointers - the second-highest single-game total in program history - and finished with a career-high 31 points. Scott scored 27 and grabbed eight rebounds for Niagara (4-5).
Dukes hit a 3 and Scott scored six consecutive points to cap a 9-0 run that gave the Purple Eagles a 74-68 lead with 1:32 to play. Iba Camara pulled New Hampshire (2-7) within four points, but Dukes and Scott each made 2 of 2 free throws from there to seal it. The Wildcats made just one of their final 10 field-goal attempts.
Tanner Leissner had 24 points and Elijah Jordan scored 19 for New Hampshire.
The Wildcats led 34-31 at the break, but Dukes and Scott combined to score 39 second-half points as Niagara shot 64 percent (16 of 25) after halftime.
