Drexel 60, Towson 27
Samme Givens scored 18 points and Drexel defeated Towson 60-27 Wednesday night, setting a school record for least points allowed since it joined Division I.
It was also the least points ever given up in a Colonial Athletic Association game.
Towson tied the NCAA record for consecutive losses by a Division I team at 34 with Sacramento State. New Jersey Institute of Technology set the overall record of 51, but did it when transitioning from Division II to Division I.
Damion Lee added 12 points for the Dragons (9-5, 1-2 Colonial Athletic Association), who came in giving up 57.6 points per game. Drexel led 25-12 at halftime, holding the Tigers to 4-of-9 shooting and 0-for-5 from 3-point range in the first half.
Towson (0-15, 0-3) made just eight baskets in the game, shooting 21.6 percent (8 of 37).
Marcus Damas paced the Tigers with six points.
