Donahue's clutch 3 clinches Penn Ivy League tourney birth (Mar 04, 2017)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Jackson Donahue made the game-winning 3-pointer with 6.3 seconds left, sending Penn to a 75-72 win over Harvard Saturday night and clinching the No. 4 seed at the inaugural Ivy League Tournament.

Donahue started in the right corner on Penn's final offensive possession, then ran to the right wing, sagging well beyond NBA 3-point distance. Devon Goodman drew two defenders behind the top of the key and passed to Donahue, who casually rose up and sank his lone field goal attempt of the night.

Matt Howard totaled 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting to go with 12 boards and three blocks for Penn. A.J. Brodeur had 15 points and seven rebounds.

Goodman gave the Quakers (13-14, 6-8) a 72-67 lead on a layup with 1:07 left. But Bryce Aiken converted a 3-point play and a pair of free throws on Harvard's next two possessions to tie it at 72 with 20 seconds left.

Aiken made 6 of 7 free throws and finished with 17 points for the Crimson (18-9, 10-4), the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Ivy League Tournament. Zena Edosomwan added 15 and Siyani Champers 12 with six assists.

Penn plays top-seeded Princeton in the semifinals on Saturday.
