Detroit leads all the way in 88-65 win over Central State
DETROIT (AP) Josh McFolley scored 17 points and Detroit seized early control in its 88-65 season-opening win over Central State Monday night.
The Titans took a 29-10 lead to start and were never threatened. Seven different Titans players scored at the outset.
Detroit (1-0) got 14 points from Carlton Brundidge, Anton Wilson 13 and Jaleel Hogan had 10. The Titans outshot Central State 53.6 percent to 32.4.
Gerald Blackshear had 10 rebounds for Detroit as the Titans dominated the boards 52-35. Despite the convincing win, Detroit committed 25 turnovers and 22 fouls.
The Marauders got 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting and five rebounds from Jeremy Brown. Anthony Chester finished with 7 points off the bench for Central State, which had 14 steals, four of which came from Dymiere Finch.
