CS Northridge 73, Pepperdine 70

Stephan Hicks had 18 points and Aqeel Quinn 17 as Cal State Northridge beat Pepperdine 73-70 Saturday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

The Matadors (2-6) trailed for most of the first half before Josh Greene hit a pair of 3-pointers to open the second half and spark a 10-1 run that put them on top 34-31. Northridge took the lead for good with an 11-2 run that broke a 42-42 tie, and later hit 7 of 8 free throws in the final 43 seconds to overcome a pair of late 3-pointers by the Waves (5-4).

Greene finished with 15 points and Vinnie McGhee added 10 for the Matadors.

Joshua Lowery had 17 points, Taylor Darby 15 and Hector Harold 12 for Pepperdine. Corbin Moore added 10 points and eight rebounds, while Caleb Willis had eight assists.
