Creighton freshman forward out for season

The hits just keep coming for the Bluejays, as the Creighton frontline will be a man down for the remainder of the season.

According to Steve Pivovar of the Omaha World-Herald, Creighton head coach Greg McDermott told reporters on Monday that freshman forward Martin Krampelj is out for the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee last week in practice.

It seems that almost every member of the Creighton frontcourt has dealt with some sort of injury during the first portion of the season. Toby Hegner and Zach Hanson missed part of the preseason with injuries, as did small forward Ronnie Harrell. Last week, Cole Huff banged up his right shoulder during the team's loss to Loyola (IL).

Krampelj, the 6-foot-9 forward from Slovenia, averaged 2.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per game in seven appearances this season for the Bluejays.

Creighton travels to Norman for Saturday's showdown with No. 3 Oklahoma.
