Creighton freshman center Justin Patton will redshirt 2015-16 season

Creighton freshman center Justin Patton will redshirt this season, head coach Greg McDermott announced on Thursday night.

Patton committed to the Bluejays in June of 2014 before jumping up the rankings of almost every recruiting service. The 6-foot-11 Patton was a consensus four-star recruit coming out of high school.

Patton averaged 7.0 points and 5.3 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game this summer during Creighton's tour of Italy. He logged only six minutes in an exhibition game last Friday.
