Campbell 61, Auburn 54

Amir Celestin came off the bench to score 13 points, nine in the second half, as Campbell defeated Auburn 61-54 on Saturday in the Global Sports Hoops Showcase.

It was the first victory for the Camels (2-2) over a Southeastern Conference team since they beat South Carolina 73-72 in overtime on Jan. 12, 1994.

After Andrew Malone's 3-pointer gave the Tigers (0-3) their final lead, 49-47, with 6:28 remaining, they didn't score again until the final nine seconds.

A layup by Eric Griffin tied the game at 49 and two free throws by Celestin put the Camels ahead 51-49 with 2:56 to play. Campbell led 57-49 before another 3-pointer by Malone broke Auburn's drought.

Campbell led by as many as eight points, 18-10, in the first half, but Auburn came back to take the lead on a Malone 3-pointer and went on to a 30-26 halftime advantage.

Malone led the Tigers with 17 points.
