Butler 97, Hanover 73

Rotnei Clarke and Khyle Marshall scored 19 points each, and hot-shooting Butler never trailed Tuesday night in a 97-73 victory over Division III program Hanover.

Clarke, the reigning Atlantic 10 Conference player of the week, was 6 of 8 from the field, including 5 of 6 on 3-pointers. Marshall made seven of his 12 shots as the Bulldogs (4-2) shot 59 percent from the floor.

Andrew Smith added 13 points and Kellen Dunham had 12 for Butler. Roosevelt Jones scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Ryan Nowicki and Michael Van Kleunen led the Panthers (3-1) with 15 points apiece.

The Bulldogs opened the game on a 15-2 run, capped by a Clarke 3-pointer, and were never seriously threatened. Butler was 9 of 18 on 3-pointers and dominated the glass, outrebounding Hanover 42-22.

Butler improved to 13-2 against Hanover, which has not beaten the Bulldogs since the 1909-10 season.
