Brownridge with 32 points, Santa Clara beats Sacred Heart

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) Jared Brownridge hit 7 of 15 from beyond the arc to total 32 points as Santa Clara jumped ahead in the second half to take an 84-74 win over Sacred Heart on Monday night.

Brownridge, who had made just four treys in the first four games, nailed more than half of Santa Clara's 3-pointers, which was just what the Broncos needed to get the win. Santa Clara was 12 of 28 from distance while Sacred Heart hit just 3 of 13.

Matt Hauser got his second straight double-double with 14 points and a career-high 11 assists and Nate Kratch chipped in 11 points for the Broncos (3-2).

The game was tied at 44 with 16:36 remaining when Santa Clara's Evan Wardlow hit a jump shot to start a 14-5 run. Sacred Heart (1-3) could not close the gap.

Quincy McKnight led the Pioneers with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
