Bethune-Cookman 74, Florida A&M 59

Anthony Breeze scored 22 points and Bethune-Cookman took command early in a 74-59 victory over Florida A&M Saturday in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

The Wildcats (3-5), who beat Florida A&M (0-7) for the fourth straight time, now have an eight-game MEAC winning streak dating to last season. They led 38-29 at halftime and extended their lead in the second half to win comfortably.

Breeze's 22 points included 10 of 14 from the foul line. He also had seven rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals. Adrien Coleman added 18 points and nine boards.

Bethune-Cookman, now 3-0 at home, outscored A&M 24-13 at the foul line. The Rattlers made 13 of 15 free throws, but the Wildcats were 24 for 33 at the stripe.

For the Rattlers, Reggie Lewis was the only player in double figures with 10 points. Brandon Hosely and Markee Teal each had eight.
