Auburn's Danjel Purifoy will redshirt this season
One of Auburn's highly-touted freshmen will miss the entire 2015-16 season.
Danjel Purifoy, a four-star recruit from the Class of 2015, will redshirt this season, the school announced on Tuesday after the NCAA informed Auburn of Purifoy's status. For the past several months, the ACT testing center was reviewing Purifoy's test scores.
Purifoy will enter the 2016-17 season as a redshirt freshman and will have four years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-7 small forward will be joined by incoming recruits Mustapha Heron, Jared Harper and Anfernee McLemore in Auburn's freshmen class.
Auburn has a 9-15 (3-9 SEC) record this season.
