Alabama State beats LaGrange 97-63
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Reginald Gee scored 24 points and made all three of his 3-point attempts to help Alabama State get its first win of the season 97-63 over Division III LaGrange on Sunday night.
Jacoby Ross added 20 points, making 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and Austin Rogers and Branden Johnson scored 10 each. Gee had 18 points in the first half when the Hornets built a 59-27 lead.
Alabama State (1-2) took the lead for good at 14-11 on Gee's 3-pointer with 13:13 left in the first half and outscored the Panthers 41-12 over the next ten-plus minutes to build a 32-point lead before the break.
Julian Cameron scored 14, Jamison McCray added 12 and Gary Bishop had 10 for LaGrange, which got the deficit no closer than 26 in the second half.
