Ajayi scores 20 to carry South Alabama past Texas St. 77-63
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Josh Ajayi had 20 points as South Alabama topped Texas State 77-63 on Saturday night.
Rodrick Sikes had 18 points for South Alabama (14-15, 7-9 Sun Belt Conference). Herb McGee added 15 points. Kory Holden had 15 points for the home team.
Alex Peacock scored a season-high 20 points for the Bobcats (23-7, 12-5). Tre'Larenz Nottingham added 16 points. Jaylen Shead had 10 points and seven assists.
Nijal Pearson, who led the Bobcats in scoring coming into the matchup with 18 points per game, failed to make a shot from the floor (0 of 8).
South Alabama faces Coastal Carolina on the road on Thursday. Texas State finishes out the regular season against Texas-Arlington on the road next Saturday.
