Yamanaka knocks out Santillan to defend WBC bantamweight title

Shinsuke Yamanaka knocked out Diego Santillan in the seventh round Thursday to defend his WBC bantamweight title.

Yamanaka sent the Argentine to the canvas with a left 36 seconds into the seventh round at Bodymaker Colosseum. It was Yamanaka's eighth defense of the title he first won in 2011.

The 32-year-old Japanese fighter improved to 23-0, including 17 KOs with two draws. Santillan fell to 23-1 (15 KOs).
