Segura stops Calderon for second time
Giovanni Segura retained his WBO junior flyweight belt Saturday night in Mexicali, Mexico, when he knocked out Ivan Calderon for the second time in less than a year.
Segura, who improved to 27-1-1 with 23 KOs, knocked Calderon to the canvas with a body shot at 1:39 of the third round.
In their previous meeting in August, Segura, 29, stopped Calderon (34-2-1) in the eighth round. It was the Puerto Rico native's first loss and cost him the title he had held for three years.
