Chudinov KOs McCulloch for WBA interim super-middleweight belt

Fyodor Chudinov knocked out previously unbeaten Australian fighter Ben McCulloch to win the vacant WBA interim super-middleweight belt in Moscow on Thursday.

The Russian controlled the fight from the start before sending McCulloch to the canvas with a crunching right hook to the head in the second round. McCulloch laid face down for several minutes - requiring medical help - before leaving the ring shaken but walking.

The unbeaten Chudinov, brother of interim WBA middleweight champion Dmitry Chudinov, moves to a 12-0 career record, 10 wins by knockout.

McCulloch, fighting for the first time in Europe, drops to 14-1.

In addition to Fyodor Chudinov's interim belt, the WBA also recognizes Britain's Carl Froch as its world champion for the division and Andre Ward of the United States as super champion.
